Attention Hanna City Residents:
The water department will be installing a new water main and the connection is at the corner of Elbert Court and Nora. To make this connection, we will need to close Elbert Court on Friday Morning. The road will be closed from Friday Morning from 7:30am until Friday evening. We apologize for any inconvenience, but this is a necessary new water main. If you have questions or concerns, please call the water department at 309-565-7411.
Attention Hanna City Residents:
First Street at Logan will be closed Thursday 11/7 after 8am through Friday evening 11/8 . Houses on First Street will still have access via Nora Street. Please avoid the area if you can.
Just a reminder that the entrance to the alley between First Street and Main Street near the Post Office will be closed at Farmington Road. The entrance may be closed up to the whole week while Illinois American Water does some work to their equipment. There will be access to the alley from Hanna Street.
Attention VOHC residents who participate in the energy aggregation.
The Village has been notified that our energy aggregation partner, Energy Harbor, has been purchased by Homefield Energy. It is our understanding nothing is going to change with the existing program but the name and that participants should receive a letter from Homefield Energy in November.

Monday November 4, the alley between First Street and Main Street near the Post Office will be closed at Farmington Road. There will be access to the alley from Hanna Street.

The water department will be installing a new water main in Hanna City. The project will begin the week of November 4 and will take a week to complete, weather permitting. The road will be closed on First street between First and Elbert including Nora Street. There will be road closures, and we will let residents know when they will occur when the time comes. The crews will be digging in yards to connect service, but everything will be cleaned up once the work is completed. Please try to avoid the area if at all possible.

Burning of landscape waste is allowed in containers located not less than 20 feet from any building or structure on private property only. ANNUAL MAINTENANCE PROGRAM INCLUDING FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING AND TEMPORARY WATER TREATMENT CHANGE - In addition to the hydrant maintenance and flushing, Illinois American Water's water quality team will be switching treatment to a form of chlorine known as "free chlorine," which does not contain ammonia. This stronger disinfectant is typically used by water utilities when flushing water mains and fire hydrants. Chlorine is commonly used in public water systems as a disinfectant and is monitored closely by our water quality professionals. During the temporary treatment change, customers may experience a more noticeable chlorine taste or odor in their water. There is no reason for concern. This is due to the switch in chlorine types. Institutions with additional water purification filters for special needs, for instance Hospitals and Dialysis Centers, have been contacted about this work and are aware of the treatment change. Anyone with questions about home health care equipment should reach out to their healthcare provider.
Good morning Village Residents! We have some news regarding your garbage pickup. The company that services Hanna City, GFL, has acquired G&O Disposal out of Elmwood and we will now be serviced by the employees out of their office. So temporarily, beginning Oct 21, you will be seeing G&O trucks in town, but know that they are under the umbrella of the GFL family. The G&O trucks you will see do not have the side-loader capability, but they will soon, so please continue to put out your trash accordingly.
